PARRAINER UN ENFANT EN RDC

SPONSOR A CHILD IN THE DRC…

To be born in the Congo is to come into existence on the most fertile territory on the planet, in a country where there are endless possibilities of development. Yet too many children do not have access to their fundamental rights, including being fed and cared for, being educated and protected from any form of exploitation. Our country still has more than 8 million orphaned and vulnerable children, some ten thousands of them surveyed the streets of Lubumbashi and the surrounding area. UNICEF estimates that more than 40,000 children are working in artisanal mines in Katanga and Kasai, because of the lack of economic alternatives for these children and their families.

BUMI is a humanitarian and development NGO whose primary mission is to ensure the protection and education of these children to reintegrate them into society, to make them citizens of tomorrow. BUMI currently provides the overall care of nearly 150 children in our foster homes and participates in the schooling and training of more than 1000 vulnerable children in Lubumbashi.

This is because we are convinced that solidarity and individual commitment are drivers of development that our association has established a child sponsorship program for individuals and businesses.

BECOME A GODFATHER OR A GODMOTHER

DEUX FORMULES VOUS SONT PROPOSÉES:

THE INDIVIDUAL SPONSORING

Sponsor a girl or boy individually recreates an emotional bond between the godson and his godfather who, from near or far, watches over him. This link is essential for some children who have been abused and have lost confidence in the love of adults. Although BUMI does not distinguish treatment between sponsored and non-sponsored children, in exchange for your support, your godson or goddaughter will give you news (drawings, letters, photos) that we will send you periodically (3 times a year).

THE COLLECTIVE SPONSORING

The collective sponsoring is a way to support our actions globally, without preference nor discrimination. In that sense, collective sponsorship is more effective because it reduces the administrative burden linked to the individualised management of godsons. By this means, you will periodically receive news of BUMI and its activities.
